Sunrise Valley

One of my mini sketches I did on a small 6×4 inch sketch pad. I’m a detail person and enjoy trying to pack as many details into a small space as I can – not to overcrowd an image – but to give it subtle depth. My greatest challenge in this image – which I’m not sure I really overcame – was to give the proper contrast between the cliff in the foreground and the valley below it. You tell me how I did.
